Training Programme on Gender Issues
Three Days Training Programme on “Gender Issues” was organized by Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration Fairlawn, Shimla in collaboration with Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India from 30th July to 1st August, 2018 for the officers/officials of different government departments of Himachal Pradesh. The programme was attended by 22 participants representing different government departments of Himachal Pradesh. All the participants shown keen interest and attention in the sessions and participated actively in the discussions too. It was a diverse group of participants and this enriched the overall learning and training atmosphere. Majority of the participants rated the training programme and performance of Faculty as Excellent and Very Good. The training programme on Gender Issues and course contents have been appreciated by the participants and they have suggested that such progammes should be organized in future also.
Course Contents:- In this training programme course contents were “Gender Profile of H.P; Budget Making Process (How it can be Gender Sensitive)” The Topic for the second session was “Gender Concept (What & Why Gender), Inequality: Needs, Issues and Concerns”. “The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act, 2013.) Provisions & Issues”. “Gender issues in Environment and Development; Gender, Violence and Safety Concerns in Himachal Pradesh”. Gender Issues in Himachal Pradesh Different Schemes, Policies & Programmes of WCD in H.P. Health & Gender Concerns with Special Reference to Anemia & Nutrition.
Objectives of the Programme:-
The main objective behind this programme was to strengthen advocacy and social dialogue on gender issues, to develop understanding of Gender related concepts and to acquaint the participants with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act, 2013).
