Mid-Career Training Programme for Indian Foreign Service Officers
The Institute is engaged in Mid-Career Training Programme of IFS Officers for the last about 3 years. It is basically the State Attachment where the Officer(s) concerned select the State of their choice and act as the Ambassador for that State in rest of their Career to the outside World.
This time, the programme was organised for Ms. Manika Jain, 1993 Batch IFS and Indian Ambassador to Cambodia, w.e.f. 16-20 July, 2018. During this attachment, the Officer was apprised about the Historical, Cultural & Socio-Economic profile of the State besides apprising about the key initiatives taken by the State Govt. in the field of Horticulture, Tourism, Power, Industries and Governance. Followed by a Call On to Hon’ble the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and the Chief Secretary. The Officer also interacted with the Students of Senior Secondary School Solan, and Primary & Middle Schools Basal as well as the Elected Members of Basal Gram Panchayat.
To get first-hand idea about the Industrial set-up in Himachal Pradesh, the Officer took an extensive tour of the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Industrial Area where a formal interaction was organised with the Association of Industries & leading Business Houses on 20-07-2018. This interaction with the Industrial Houses was Chaired by the Hon’ble Industries Minister of Himachal Pradesh.
