Watershed Management under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY)
A training programme on Watershed Management under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) was organized from 01.05.2018 to 05.05.2018 for 5 days. The course was attended by 26 participants. The course contents included the topics viz. i).Planning, Execution & Convergence of activities under watershed development programmes ii) PMKSY-Command Area Development & Importance of Micro-irrigation system, Calculations & Technical interventions for Command Area Development activities iii) Capturing Best Practices on NRM activities iv) Water Budgeting- Scope v) Technical session on Farm Based interventions in watershed area, Technical Interventions for improving irrigation potential vi) Production System Enhancement-sharing best practices, Livelihood Generation through Natural Resource Management vii) Field visit (exposure on different water conservation practices & catchment area treatment activities in watershed area of GP Anandpur, Dev. Block Mashobra) viii) Geo-informatics applications for planning & implementation of watershed activities, ISRO applications for Natural Resource Management (Agriculture, Forest, MGNREGA, Watershed) etc. The participants were taken to Gram Panchayat Anandpur in watershed area of Dev. Block Mashobra to have an exposure on different water conservation and harvesting activities being adopted in the watershed areas and its forward link for the farm based livelihood activities. The field visit was appreciated by all the trainees. The participants found the training to be Overall Faculty assessment given by the participants ranges from very good to excellent. The infrastructure and boarding & lodging facility provided to the participants was rated between satisfactory to good. The valedictory function was attended by Ms. Jyoti Rana, HAS, Jt. Director, HIPA to take the feedback of the participants. The course was sponsored by MoRD and State Rural Development Department.
