State Level Training Programme on “Gender Budgeting” for the Representatives of State Level Government Departments/Organizations of Himachal Pradesh from 26th to 28th September, 2019
Gender Budgeting is a powerful tool for achieving gender mainstreaming so as to ensure that benefits of development reach to women as much as men. It is not an accounting exercise but an ongoing process of keeping a gender perspective in policy/programme formulation, its implementation and review.
HIPA organized the State Level training programme on Gender Budgeting from 26th to 28th September, 2019 in this Institute for various state level Officers/Officials of different Government Departments. This training programme was sponsored by the Ministry of Women and Child Development Government of India and was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of WCD, GoI. The objective behind this State level training programme on “Gender Budgeting” programme was to build understanding of Gender Responsive Budget as a tool for promoting gender equity, and also mainstreaming gender in planning and budgeting process. This programme was attended by 45 Participants representing different State Level Departments, Corporation and Boards of Himachal Pradesh Government.
Outcome of the Programme included: Identification & delineation of Sector specific inequalities in Gender Budgeting’s, Identify the different stereotypes associated with men & women, analyze how these affect them and efforts have been made to sensitized/aware the participants about the sexual harassment of women at work place under (Prevention Prohibition and Redressal Act-2013).
